Hey, what is up?
We’re Felix & Michael and in the fate-turning year of 2019 we founded The Black Tear. But it wasn’t the first time our musical interests crossed ways. After a painful split-up, not very long ago we decided to put aside our egos and resume doing what we’ve always done best: creating heart-breaking, earth-shaking music.
Storyline
- Early Childhood
Since their early childhood, cousins Felix Cerny and Michael Oppitz were enthusiastically making music during Felix’ yearly summer visit.
- 2009
It wasn’t until the fate-turning year 2009 the cousins finally decided to found a band. Blackmonkey soon was born and two albums (“Love & Lies”, “Rohvisionen”) and a couple of single releases followed.
- 2016
Pretty much out of the blue, Blackmonkey split up in 2016. The musicians parted ways, but didn’t join any other projects.
- 2018
Many hoped for it, but nobody really expected it. Yet, only 2 years after splitting up, Felix and Michael reunited. Mentally recharged and with a suitcase chock-full of new songs it was time for a new face, a new style and a new name. The Black Tear was born.
- 2022
The band’s debut album “Second Skin” was released on 1st of December. At the same time, the video of their single “After the rain” was published.
